Our Trees

Crest Ranch is known for having more varieties of Christmas trees than any other tree farm in California. We offer a wide variety of trees to choose from. (Varieties not shown tend to be limited at this time: Nordmann, Turkish Fir, Greek Fir, Coastal Redwood, Noble Fir, Spruce-Norwegian & Blue, Cypress, Atlantic Cedar, etc.) Come visit us and pick out the perfect tree for your family's holiday traditions.

Monterey Pine This fast growing fragrant tree is native to the Monterey Bay. It's Latin name is Pinus radiata and is known for it's lush green color, making it a great Christmas tree. It has longer semi soft needles. Due to its rapid growth these trees must be trimmed twice a year in order to maintain its Christmas tree like figure.

Sierra Redwood (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is also called bigtree or giant sequoia. It grows in the mountains of California, being common in Yosemite. A billowing mass of blue-green foliage soars to a neat, spire top.

Atlantic Cedar Cedar Atlantica is common in cultivation as an ornamental tree in temperate climates. Atlantic cedar is useful in cultivation because it is more tolerant of dry and hot conditions than most conifers. Many of the cultivated trees have glaucous (bluish) foliage, more downy shoots, and can have more needles in each whorl; young trees in cultivation often have more ascending branches than many cultivated specimens.

Douglas Fir The Douglas Fir, of the Pseudotsuga species, is one of our most popular trees. It has a beautiful appearance, with soft 1" needles radiating in all directions around the branch, as well as a lovely fragrance.

Arizona Cypress The Arizona cypress, of the species Cupressus arizonica, has a pale-green to grey-green color and a wonderful fragrance that will fill your home. It does not have needles as do the pines and firs. The bark is thin and delicate with a reddish brown color.

White Fir The White fir, of the species Abies concolor, is a beautiful tree and very popular with our customers. The needles generally grow up on the branch and each needle is somewhat flat. It varies from a bluish to a greenish shade. Its layered branches are nicely spaced, giving plenty of room for easy decorating. White Firs are a slower growing species, but well worth the wait. Be sure to put your White Fir in water as soon as possible after cutting for maximum needle retention.

Scotch Pine One of the most popular Christmas Trees in the US is the Scotch Pine. It is has a dark green color, and its stiff branches are well suited for decorating with both light and heavy ornaments. This tree has excellent needle retention characteristics.
